Community Service
Since Lopefra Corp. has been in business over 30 years in South Florida,
we decided it was time to give something back. We felt good this year about
donating of ourselves to organizations suc h as Hands on Miami, making
collections for our troops in the Middle East, and donating for the various
victims of this past Hurricane Season! We also work closely with Habitat for
Humanity whose motto is "Building Houses In Partnership With God's People In
Need." Several members of our staff gave of themselves during Global Youth
Day at AD Barnes Park where they helped clean up a preservation area for
certain trees & plants. When the day was over, everyone was exhausted
but felt good about the job they did!
Throughout the course of the year, Lopefra has made several donations of our heavy
equipment operators and our equipment to help with improvements in projects
such as:
• The Miami Dade Juvenile Justice Center & Court House: we
helped the facility look better by digging for
plants and 2 of our attorneys participated in Service Juris Day where
they toiled dirt and rocks, making a nicer entrance for the facility. We
also lent our equipment rental and container service to improve
this location.
• We worked with the Latinos United Community Service
project as part of the International Development Bank Annual Meeting.
• Citrus Grove Middle School, we helped pave the way
for a new butterfly garden for the kids.
• Florida Baptist Children's Homes, we helped with the
landscaping for orphan children and pregnant teens.
• At Sunrise Opportunities, where the disabled find
assistance and support from an excellent group, we helped with tilling tough soil
to make room for trees and bushes to make the area more beautiful.
• We donated equipment rental service and roll-off dumpsters to Kristi House
shelter for girls who have been victims of commercial sexual exploitation, also known
as child sex trafficking. The Project GOLD (Girls Owning their Own Life and Dreams)
shelter will enable girls to escape dangerous lives on the streets. The home will be
the first shelter of its kind in Miami.
Our goal is to continue to improve our community and give back to our neighbors.
